1996 American Silver Eagle Sales

The table below shows the US Mint’s 1996 Silver Eagle bullion coin sales figures.

During 1996, the United States Mint sold 3,466,000 ounces of silver. This marked a decline of over one million ounces from the prior year. It also marked a new low for US Mint silver bullion sales that still stands today. The approximate silver value of the Silver Eagle bullion coins sold by the US Mint during 1996 was $17,434,050, also a low for silver bullion sales. This amount is calculated based on the average monthly price of silver and the bullion coins sales for each month.

The sales figures below represent monthly sales, which may include coins minted in multiple years. The US Mint also produced and sold proof coins for collectors. Only bullion coin sales are included below.
