1986 American Silver Eagle Sales

The table below displays the US Mint’s 1986 Silver Eagle bullion sales figures. This was the first year that the US Mint offered bullion products. Sales of the Silver Eagle coins first began in November.

During 1986, the US Mint sold 5,096,000 ounces of silver. The silver value was approximately $27,645,520 calculated based on the average monthly price of silver and the bullion coins sales for each month.

The sales figures represent monthly sales totals, which may include coins minted in different years. Only bullion coin sales are included. The US Mint separately produced and sold proof coins for collectors.
